So sad to hear. Was an amazing person with a legendary bike shop. RIP 🙏 @cyclesmithy #ChicagoSaddened to learn about the passing of a legend, Mark Mattei of Cycle Smithy. Cycle Smithy was my first and beloved bike shop in Lincoln Park. Mark began his journey with Cycle Smithy in 1973, a year before I was born. He closed the doors in 2022 citing a 49 year run.

I heard the Archer Avengers weren't coming to protest the Archer Complete Streets project, and I wasn't sure if it was true or not. It turns out it was. Claudia Zuno and her remaining Archer Avengers must of decided they were tired of standing by themselves... on the very pedestrian islands and bump-outs that they are protesting. 6:30pm came and went and nobody from the guardians showed up today.

Monday Night Safety Rally Temps are going to be in the 70s on Monday! Come rally with us in support of the new safety infrastructure being put in on Archer Ave. There is an Alderwoman candidate who is protesting the entire Archer Safe Streets project. She says the people of that ward would be better off without them, and her campaign "promise" is to remove the new bike lanes as soon as she wins, regardless of the teen who was hit by a hit-and-run driver less than 1 mile from where we stand only 1 month ago, and also the bike rider who was struck just hours before last week's rally by yet another hit and run driver right across the street from where we stand.
